WHO IS GOLDSTAR TALENT MANAGEMENT?
Sid Gold has been in the Talent Management business for 25 years and is the National Treasurer of The National Conference of Personal Managers.
In addition to his seminars on how to break into the business, what scams to avoid and how best to maximize opportunities in the industry, he's been an integral part of the International Model and Talent Conventions, serving as a panelist and judge at competitions.
Sid worked in the NYC public school system for over 30 years as a teacher and supervisor, directing both the Gifted and Talented and Cultural Heritage programs for which he produced shows with children ages 7 to 17.
WHAT IS GOLDSTAR'S ROLE AS YOUR PERSONAL MANAGER?
We are in the business of discovering and developing talent. We introduce our clients to the top talent agents and casting directors in the business and provide appropriate auditions for film, TV, commercials, theater projects and voiceovers. We make informed recommendations for classes and private coaching and assist clients in selecting headshots and streamlining their resumes.
Goldstar works with agents to negotiate salaries, contracts, travel arrangements and the fine details of each booking. We advise clients about union affiliations such as SAG (Screen Actor's Guild), AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) and AEA (Actor's Equity Association), and handle all publicity and media relations.
Our ultimate goal is to help our clients get professional work and achieve success in the industry.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A GOLDSTAR CLIENT?
Goldstar Talent Management works in partnership with clients, agents, parents of minors and other support personnel when appropriate. All career decisions are collaborative and reflect the best interests of our clients. A signed contract with Goldstar Talent Management signifies a relationship of mutual trust, honesty and commitment.
The client's responsibility is to follow all audition and booking instructions, rehearse sides if they have been provided and arrive for all appointments prepared and on time. The client should also consult with Goldstar before making any decisions that could impact their career, such as a severe change of hairstyle or other appearance alterations, relocations, changes in relationship with an agent, etc. They should also keep Goldstar informed of any periods of unavailability caused by illness, vacations or other commitments.
Goldstar maintains an Open Door Policy to educate our clients about the business. We are always available to answer questions and provide career counseling and guidance.
